On the world cinema map, the Locarno Film Festival is one of Europe's most influential cultural events. At this year's 78th edition, international superstar Jackie Chan received the Pardo alla Carriera (Career Achievement Award), honouring his nearly six decades of extraordinary contribution to global cinema.
The accolade has historically been awarded to only a select number of world-renowned directors and actors, including Francesco Rosi, Bruno Ganz, Claudia Cardinale, Costa-Gavras, Johnnie To, Tsai Ming-liang, and, most recently in 2024, Shah Rukh Khan. With Jackie Chan now joining this distinguished group, Asian cinema has once again taken centre stage on the international platform.
As a global cultural icon, Jackie Chan has left an indelible mark on cinema through films such as Drunken Master, Police Story and Project A. Beyond his artistic achievements, his influence as a bridge between East and West has been widely recognised. As the Festival's Artistic Director, Giona A. Nazzaro, aptly noted: "In the art of cinema, there is a before Jackie Chan and an after Jackie Chan."
Fidinam was honoured to act as a sponsoring partner of this prestigious occasion. The "Jackie Chan Night of Honour" gala dinner, a highlight of the Festival, was jointly hosted by the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), Fidinam Group Holding SA, and the renowned Swiss jeweller Gübelin Lugano.
Held on 10 August at the historic Castello Seeschloss in Ascona, the dinner gathered leading figures from the business, cultural and political communities. In a convivial and elegant setting, Jackie Chan attended in person, warmly engaging with the guests and adding to the memorable atmosphere.
As a sponsor, Fidinam not only supported the success of this significant cultural exchange, but also reaffirmed the Group's commitment to fostering dialogue between Switzerland, China, and the wider global community. On behalf of the Group, Avv. Massimo Pedrazzini, Chairman of Fidinam Group Holding SA, and Paolo Balen, Chairman of Fidinam Group Worldwide Ltd., were delighted to meet Jackie Chan during the event.

Fidinam has long been committed to encouraging cross-cultural collaboration and business exchange on a global scale. Sponsoring this gala dinner was not only a celebration of Jackie Chan's cultural significance but also a recognition of the Locarno Film Festival as a stage for international dialogue and creativity.
In today's interconnected business environment, companies increasingly support cultural and social initiatives to build bridges with diverse communities. By sponsoring the gala, Fidinam contributed to an international cultural milestone while providing new opportunities for Sino-Swiss and cross-border exchange. This reflects the Group's continued efforts to explore collaborative models within the context of globalisation.
Founded in Lugano, Switzerland, in 1960, Fidinam has consistently pursued a philosophy that combines global perspective with local insight. Over the past six decades, the Group has expanded its presence to Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas.
China has been a strategic focus for over a decade, reflecting its role as the world's second-largest economy and a priority for multinational and outbound Chinese enterprises alike. Fidinam's involvement in sponsoring this Swiss cultural initiative further demonstrates its commitment not only to business, but also to strengthening relationships between Switzerland, China and the wider world.
Whether supporting multinationals with compliance and structuring for their Chinese investments, or helping Chinese enterprises expand internationally, Fidinam continues to bring professional expertise and international resources to achieve sustainable global development for their long-term success.
From Lugano to Shanghai, from the Locarno Film Festival to the international stage, Fidinam remains rooted in Switzerland while embracing global opportunities. Supporting the "Jackie Chan Night of Honour" was one more step in promoting cultural dialogue and exchange.
This celebration was not only a tribute to Jackie Chan's remarkable career, but also an opportunity for meaningful cross-sector dialogue. Looking ahead, Fidinam will continue to engage with international cultural and business initiatives, working alongside its partners to explore new possibilities.
